Little Musicians
Give your child an early start to music appreciation at Little Musicians! Ages 3-5 will build musical literacy and increase gross motor skills through rhythmic activities and songs led by a Johnson City Symphony Orchestra member. The program is held in the Library’s Jones Meeting Center at 10:30 a.m. on the following Fridays: April 11, 18, and 25. Space is limited, so pick up a ticket at the Children’s Desk when you arrive to ensure your spot.
Fiddle N’ Fun with Mister Joel
Ages 6-12 will enjoy a lively music workshop on Tuesday, April 15 at 6 p.m. that features singing, dancing, guitar, and percussion in the Library’s Jones Meeting Center. Kids will try out fiddling techniques using Fiddlestix, a single-stringed instrument and bow that prepares young players to learn the violin. Kids will also learn violin basics through original songs, covers, parodies, and listening exercises. This program is facilitated by Fiddle N’ Fun, an independent music education program. Space is limited, so pick up a ticket at the Children’s Desk when you arrive to ensure your spot.
Teen Music Heals with PJ
Ages 12-18 can join a music therapy-inspired session with local musician and music therapist PJ Boyajian on Wednesday, May 7 at 6 p.m. in the Library’s Jones Meeting Center. Teens can relax, recenter, and express themselves to the beat in this interactive experience. Registration is required; sign up here.
